BECI Welcomes State Projects Expert Billy Wilson to Louisiana Team
Building enclosure consulting firm, BECI, welcomes state project expert and Louisiana native Billy Wilson to their team. Wilson’s addition to the BECI Louisiana team will bring experience, connections and leadership to the firm that will strengthen their ability to consult on state projects.
Wilson, a Louisiana State University alumnus, previously worked with both the Office of State Buildings and Facility Planning & Control for thirty years, with direct involvement on projects such as the State Capitol, the Supreme Court (New Orleans), the First and Second Circuit Court of Appeal, and various other office and state buildings. During his time as a student at LSU and throughout the entirety of his professional career, he has worked specifically on the architectural side of building projects.
In his role, Wilson’s extensive knowledge will bring new opportunities for the firm to guide and consult with architects on designs with building envelope difficulties or priorities. The firm’s priority is to stick to their tagline, “Protecting Enclosures. Together.” and to approach each project as a partnership.
BECI’s presence in Louisiana has grown exponentially over the past few years and continues to develop rapidly. It has completed work in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Houma/Thibodaux, Lake Charles, Richland Parish, Shreveport/Bossier, Alexandria, and other areas throughout the state. Some of its most notable projects include the Richland Parish Data Center in Rayville, Louisiana with Mortenson, the St. Louis Cathedral under Holly & Smith Architects, and various buildings across LSU and Tulane’s campuses.
Alongside Wilson as a licensed architect, members of the BECI Baton Rouge team have also earned RRO, REWO, and BECxP and CxA+BE certifications. They also are involved in the firm’s internship program, hiring a mechanical engineering major from Louisiana Tech University for the summer.
“I’m glad to be on the team,” says Wilson. “BECI has been a part of projects similar to ones I’ve worked on in the past. I’m looking forward to continuing work in this area and assisting clients with my experience.”
BECI shared building enclosure expertise with Louisiana first by servicing from their Mobile and Pensacola offices. In 2024, they established a full-time presence in Baton Rouge and have added to the team and further filled the office ever since.
