Activities

Buster Marohn, Senior Project Manager, speaking to a group of condominium and commercial building managers in a seminar titled “Effective Maintenance Plans.”  One of Buster’s main points is the key value of third-party inspections.

BE-CI offers presentations to local associations and service clubs throughout the year. Most recently, Josh Tatum, PE, spoke to the Society of Military Engineers at their monthly meeting in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida on the use of air barriers and weather barriers for walls and flashings.

Joseph C. Ferrell, PE, Vice President and Principal Partner in BE-CI, presented at the Inaugural Building Envelope Institute (IBEI) Building Envelope Investigations Symposium. Joe spoke about industry-approved testing standards for various roofing and waterproofing systems within the building envelope including ASTM E1105, AAMA 502/503, and AAMA 501.2. He offered a number of practical tips on how to run the tests in the field and discussed, in detail, the merits of field testing new or existing construction products and systems.

Jimmy Fell, Jr., BE-CI Business Development Manager, is a popular lecturer at seminars and media-sponsored events, often discussing construction problems and building envelope solutions of special interest to building owners. He has published several articles on the secrets to effective maintenance plans and the various ways to significantly extend the service life of major envelope components.
